Co-owner Mimmo Rossi, 54, who, like Franzese, is from Naples, Italy, said: "The Pizza Franzese has hot Italian sausage, traditional pepperoni and pepperoncini.

"It will be a special pizza for the week.

"We are excited to welcome him here.

"We'll try to do as many traditional Neapolitan dishes as we can for him."

Mimmo's business partner David Cassells, 64, added: "We hope to make him feel a wee bit at home.

"If it's successful, we might keep it on."

Franzese – who has his own pizza brand called Slices – is also due to launch his wines while on tour of the UK.

He will be at the city's Garage next Sunday for his
Re Made Man show.

He said: "I'm blown away to have a pizza made in my name.

"For the people of Glasgow, this is an offer you can't refuse.

"I feel like I'll be back in my family home by visiting Bella Vita. It will be lovely to share family stories and history."

Franzese, 72, is due to chat with reformed Glasgow gangster Paul Ferris, 60, at an exclusive sit-down evening in the city on Friday, and will warn youngsters that mob life "destroyed" his family.

He earned $10million a week in the 1980s but ditched crime after he left prison in 1994.
