NEW England Patriots fans have been left none too pleased with the team's new logo.
With the 2024 NFL season rapidly approaching, the Patriots subtly revealed their new alternate logo in a tweet on Friday.

The team took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to unveil their draft class' new jersey numbers.
In the graphic was the team's new round logo featuring the letters "NE" with the regular figure of "Flying Elvis" set within.
Around this is a blue and red ring reading "New England Patriots" and "Est. 1960."
Despite the soft release of the logo, it didn't take long for it to make the rounds on social media.
"This is really bad," one fan said of the new design.
"Couldn't be worse," a second commented.
"Imagine having Pat the Patriot and settling on this," another added.
Not that all felt this way, such as one fan who responded, "I love it tbh…It should be the new midfield logo"
As it turns out, the logo had also made a previous appearance on X in a tweet from former Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes.
During a recent trip to Foxboro, he shared a photo of the new logo on a wall within Gillette Stadium.

Following Friday's outcry in response to the new logo's release, the Patriots' social media team made the most of the situation.
Using the popular meme showing a woman yelling at a cat, the team captioned the shot of the woman, "Fans: You're changing the logo."
The photo of the can was then captioned, "Us: No, we aren't."
Exactly how the team plans to use this new logo, therefore, is unclear.

The Patriots' current "Flying Elvis" logo has been in use since 1993, undergoing a slight color change in 2000.
Prior to that, Pat Patriot had adorned the team's helmets since 1961, with minor redesigns of the figure over the years.
This logo has made sporadic appearances in the years since as a part of New England's throwback uniforms.

Originally, however, the team's logo was a simple blue tri-cornered hat.
This was only used for the team's first season in 1960.
