COPS have swarmed a Scots street tonight amid reports of a man wielding an axe.
Seven police vans and two ambulances are currently at the scene on Rannoch Road in Grangemouth, Falkirk.
The alarm was raised shortly after 9pm this evening.
Officers are frantically speaking to neighbours as they try to find the suspect.
An armed response unit has also been spotted parked within the car park of Grangemouth High School.
An eyewitness said: "I was walking my dog in the park and could see him with an axe.
"I was shouting at a block of flats, he was trying to get someone to come outside.
"I kept walking as I didn't want him to see me, and then I heard a massive smash.
"He smashed a window with the axe."
Another said: "My neighbour has CCTV footage of a man holding what looked like an axe.
"There was loads of shouting at around 9pm and then loads of police turned up.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
