Maya Hawke tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that she has one regret from her wedding to Christian Lee Hutson

The actress and singer, 27, got married to Christian Lee Hutson during a surprise ceremony on Feb. 14. Her famous parents — dad,Ethan Hawke, and mom,Uma Thurman— were both in attendance, as were many of herStranger Thingscastmates.
Hawke tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that "it was a wonderful day, and I probably wouldn't want to say anything more about it than that."
But still imbuing some wisdom to others planning their own nuptials, the star advises: "Be selfish. Because I worried so much about how everyone else's experience was going to go that I'd worked myself into a total tizzy, and then it happened, and I had a great time, and everyone had a great time. I didn't need to worry as much as I did."
"I wasted a lot of energy being so worried, so if I had any advice, it would be worry less," adds Hawke. "It's going to be great. Everyone's there to support you, do whatever you want. Don't kill yourself trying to make everybody else happy, just make yourself happy."

Hawke wore a custom Prada wedding dress with an oversized and feathery winter coat, while Hutson, 35, kept things classic in a custom Prada tuxedo.
The couple was joined by Hawke's famous parents, who were married from 1998 to 2005, as well as her brother,Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke.

Some of Hawke'sStranger Thingscostars, includingFinn Wolfhard,Gaten Matarazzo,Caleb McLaughlin,Sadie Sink,Natalia Dyer,Charlie HeatonandJoe Keery, were there to support the couple on their special day.
The group's appearance at the wedding came after their Netflix series wrapped weeks earlier on Dec. 31, 2025.
During the world premiere of her romantic comedy,Wishful Thinking, at the SXSW Conference & Festivals in Austin, Texas, in March, Hawketold PEOPLEthat married life had been "absolutely fantastic" thus far.
"I'm a very, very lucky person who's very happy right now, and yeah, couldn't be more grateful," she added.
Hutson and Hawke — who lends her voice to the recently-released Audible OriginalThe Summer Oath—met while recording music years ago.
They have collaborated on multiple albums together since, including Hawke's most recently-released LP,Maitreya Cors.
Hutson previously confirmed that he and Hawke were engaged while speaking withSoCal Sound Sessionlast year.
