Diff'rent StrokesactorTodd Bridgesand his wifeBettijo B. Hirschiare separating after three years of marriage.
"After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate," Bridges shared in a statement toPeopleon Wednesday, Jan. 14 "This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love andgratitudefor thelifewe shared."
"I thank God for the time we've had together, the lessons we've learned, and thefamilywe've built," he continued. "Even in this season of change, I trust He is guiding us both towardhealing,peace, and new beginnings."
"I ask for privacy as we navigate this transition and continue to lift my former partner up in prayer, wishing them joy and fulfillment in the chapters ahead," Bridges added.
InDecember2024, Hirschi revealed onThe Tamron Hall Showthat the couple first met inJanuary2022 after her friend set up a dating profile for her, and showed it to Bridges for "market research."
Bridges proposed only six months after they met, with the pair marrying in an intimate wedding ceremony in Beverly Hills, Calif. in September 2022.

Before his marriage to Hirschi, Bridges was previously married to his first wifeDorifrom 1998 to 2012, and the former couple sharessonSpencir, 28, and daughterBo, 29. Hirschi also has four children from a previous relationship.
Bridges is best known for his role as Willis Jackson on thesitcomDiff'rent Strokesfrom 1978 to 1985. His other TV credits includeFish,Everybody Hates Chris,World's Dumbest..., andCelebrityBig Brother.
