The overall attitude amongst his castmates at the show, though, was part of his struggle, he said. That was where Evangeline, with whom Thompsonshares two daughters, came in.
"This lady was the only one to call me on my s---, to help me with my s---," Redd explained. "She helped me with my therapy journey."
Evangeline, he continued, "told me things about her life that made me look at a lot of people involved differently." And then they "fell in love."
Redd teared up in the video as he reflected on the relationship, which he said "made me look terrible," as he revealed that he and Thompson, 47, had agreed to keep it "under wraps" but things "changed" once "everybody found out."
He closed out the video by saying he's ready to move forward, and he wanted to address the situation before he could do that. He plugged his upcoming show in New York City, Caveat, which premieres Jan. 28.
"The whole show is not gonna be about this," he promised. "The whole show is gonna be about love."
