Actor and comedianThomas "Tom" Wilson, who famously played bully Biff Tannen inBack to the Future, is getting candid about his experience with fans of the hit 1985 film.
During an appearance on theJanuary20 episode of actorMichael Rosenbaum's podcast,Inside of You, Wilson said that fans have often asked him to repeat his character's famous insult or act violently in pictures. He said, however, that he began refusing said requests after the 25thanniversaryofBack to the Futurein 2010. He explained that he was beginning to feel as though fans weren't viewing him as a person.
"At the 25 years I said, 'You know I think I've been generous with this. But after 25 years I'm not going to knock people on the head and I'm not going to call anyone a buttthead anymore,'" said the actor in the interview. "And I'm going to have a season of mylifewhere I just do that where if you want to take a picture with me, I'm not beating you up. We just both look nice and wesmileand those kinds of things. But yes, everyone wants me to call them a buttthead. Everyone wants me to knock them on the head. Everyone wants me to push their nephew around."
He also suggested he's not as often approached by fans as of late. Wilson said that he believes that youngergenerationsaren't as familiar withBack to the Futureand its two sequels, 1989'sBack to the Future Part IIand 1990'sBack to the Future Part III.
"I get recognized a lot, but I think less now than even 10 years ago. Now I'm sliding by because a lot of kids haven't seen it. A lot of young people haven't seen it. So that's fine. I mean that's you know now we're talking about a movie from a long long time ago," said the 66-year-old actor while speaking to Rosenbaum.
