Newcastle assistant boss Jason Tindall has issued an update on Eddie Howe's health. It emerged on Saturday that Newcastle manager Howe had been admitted to hospital on Friday night. As a result, the 47-year-old missed Newcastle's Premier League game at home to Manchester United on Sunday. Tindall, who has worked with Howe for many years, took charge of the team along with Graeme Jones. On Friday Tindall stood in for Howe at the pre-match press conference with the Newcastle boss being taken into hospital later that evening.
