
Footy star is forced to stay behind bars after alleged Anzac Day attack that left man with 'horrific injuries'
A former Penrith Panthers junior and amateur boxer has been denied bail over an alleged assault on Anzac Day that left a man with what the court heard were horrific injuries. Maurice Trindall, 24, appeared in Penrith Local Court on Tuesday, where he applied for bail on charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray. Trindall, who played in the SG Ball competition for Penrith in 2018, has been held in custody since the alleged attack almost four months ago.
