Francis Ford Coppola started working on his next film over 40 years ago. The iconic director began research on his Roman-inspired science fiction movie Megalopolis in the late 1970s after he finished Apocalypse Now. After many delays and false starts — including 300 script rewrites — Coppola's dystopian film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. With an all-star cast including Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Dustin Hoffman, Jon Voight and Laurence Fishburne, fans and critics have eagerly awaited Coppola's first film after 13 years.
