A SEASIDE resort is to lose its Punch and Judy show after more than 120 years.

His four exhibits every week through the summer time are understood to value the authority a total of round £2,500.
Punch and Judy has been carried out in Eastbourne, East Sussex, because the 1890s.
Ray, who took over 34 years ago, stated: "I'm actually upset it's been cancelled. It's a huge part of the normal seaside expertise.
"The council informed me they will't afford it any more. They even advised me they could start charging me for a pitch if I planned to fund it myself to hold on. It's a bit out of order."
The move has not gone down properly with tourists either.
Joe Turner, who visits every year together with his family, stated: "A seaside Punch and Judy show is in our DNA. It's as British as fish and chips and a stick of rock."
Enda Phelan, 60, who visits from Northern Ireland, stated: "I'm surprised. It was one of many highlights of a day on the seashore. I feel the council should discover the money."
Eastbourne Council stated it had to make "robust selections to guard frontline providers" amid "unprecedented monetary pressures".
It added the operators have been provided a pitch rent-free for a yr.
