Her resurgence came at a great time, as the Atlanta Dream were fighting to extend the series against the Golden State Valkyries and did so with an 80-69 win.

With the Dream holding a comfortable 49-26 lead in the third quarter, thanks in part to Reese's energy on the floor, Carter took a picture of his TV screen and posted it on an Instagram story. The Orlando Magic center wrote a two-word caption that summed up Reese's mindset in this pivotal game.

With the threat of elimination looming in Atlanta, Reese poured in the buckets anew, finishing with 15 points to go along with 14 rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block. The performance came on the heels of back-to-back losses in which Reese struggled to shoot and put up single-digit scoring.

Reese, who has worked with Dream coach Karl Smesko on her perimeter shooting, also hit two 3s in the game. As noted by ESPN , the Dream has never lost a game in the regular season or the playoffs when Reese makes a 3.

With Allisha Gray (23 points, 5-for-7 from deep) and Rhyne Howard (21 points, 4-for-6 from beyond the arc) hitting their stride as well, the Dream was able to force a Game 7 on Saturday in San Francisco. The occasion of this year's Halloween will turn out to be a nightmare for one squad and a historic first championship celebration for the other.

After the Dream secured the victory on their home floor, Angel Reese opened up on a heartfelt talk that she had with Allisha Gray after Game 5:

"I told her it's gonna be a mental game. Like who is going to be mentally better and you can't let anybody check you out. You know exactly who you are. And I just want her to continue to be confident in who she is."

The former LSU star added that Gray, a former national champion (at South Carolina) just like her, is a "superstar" whose lead the Dream will follow.

The leadership of both Reese and Gray will be instrumental to Atlanta's chances as the winner-take-all game emanates from Chase Center this weekend.
